The foil lined mylar bags offer a higher level of protection than standard clear or printed film, particularly from light which can degrade flavor, potency and color in light sensitive products over time. Custom foil mylar bags have a layer of metallized or true foil in the bag construction which blocks out light almost completely. This is why they are popular for packaging coffee, tea, spices, supplements and other products where shelf life and freshness depend heavily on limiting light and oxygen exposure.

Beyond functional barrier advantages, foil bags also provide a visual attribute that printed plastic film cannot duplicate. It has a premium polished look to the packaging straight out of the box with a reflective metallic finish. You can either print full color graphics directly on top of the foil base or use the metallic surface as part of the design, creating contrast between the matte printed areas and the shiny foil highlights.
We produce foil mylar bags in the same range of formats as our standard pouches, including stand up, flat and gusseted styles and can provide resealable zippers, tear notches and hang holes depending on how the product will be displayed and used. Foil bags typically do not contain window cut-outs as blocking out light is usually the main reason to choose foil in the first place, but if some product visibility is still desired we can add a small clear panel.
